The new Amazon delivery service gives carriers the ability to unlock your front door to leave packages

Ever bought a package on Amazon and thought, “I hope no one takes it off my front step?” Well, Amazon has announced a new program that will allow deliveries inside your home... when you’re not home. Welcome to Amazon Key.

Amazon Key will be available in 37 cities and regions starting November 8 for Prime members. Amazon has begun selling bundles of cameras and smart locks, starting at $250. You pair the new app with the cameras allowing customers to watch their delivery, lock or unlock their door and watch a clip of the delivery.

Not stopping at just packages, but other services will have access too. Need your house cleaned but can’t be home? Merry Maids is just one service that will available as well.

As you can imagine, this new service has brought mixed feelings. Not everyone is comfortable with giving anyone access to their home, which is understandable. Would you sign up for Amazon Key?
