Meet your new Realtor: Mr. Roboto

The days of meeting your agent on the front stoops of potential properties may be over. Thanks to a new artificial intelligence company, it might be robots leading tomorrow’s home tours instead.

Artificial agent

Zenplace, an artificial intelligence and technology firm based in Silicon Valley, has created robots that can give potential renters and buyers guided home and property tours.

Along with the firm’s other offerings, the company offers a completely online way for landlords and real estate agents to manage their properties and business.

Though the robots still need an agent to operate them, this can be done from off-site. An agent can manipulate the robot throughout the home using the Zenplace platform from anywhere in the world.

This allows the agent to virtually tour the home along with the potential buyer or renter. They can guide them through the property, answer questions and provide feedback.

Need for speed

According to Rahul Mewawalla, Zenplace’s CEO, this can speed up the time it takes to sell or rent a property which, in Silicon Valley, takes up to 54 days or longer in today’s market.

“We set out to change the property management and rental experience by providing property owners and tenants a faster and easier way to rent and lease,” Mewawalla said.

“This new way to rent makes for a better rental experience – tenants love the smart guided tours by a robot and owners love how their property can now be rented in days instead of weeks or months.”

Zenplace has created a video to show what the robot-guided tours will look like. Check it out on the firm’s YouTube channel.
