There remains a large amount of uncertainty about the leadership in Italy, but investors have lowered the expected impact that Italy will have outside the EU. Bernanke's speech contained no surprises and had little effect on MBS.

January New Home Sales jumped 16% to an annual rate of 437K, far above the consensus of 380K. Consumer Confidence increased to 69.6, far above the consensus of 62.0. The results from the 5-yr Treasury auction will come out around 1:00 et.
