Home buyers can qualify for FHA LOANS during a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy Repayment Plans and there is no waiting period after CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY discharged date per HUD 4000.1 FHA HANDBOOK GUIDELINES. Any Chapter 13 Bankruptcy during and right after Chapter 13 Bankruptcy discharged date without a 2 year seasoning is a manual underwrite which is no big deal. Unfortunately most lenders, especially banks have MORTGAGE OVERLAYS that are above and beyond of FHA GUIDELINES and will require a 2 year waiting period after CHAPTER 13 BANKRUPTCY discharged date to qualify for FHA LOANS.  Over 35% of our borrowers are folks during or just after a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  You should have no problems in qualifying for FHA or VA LOANS right after Chapter 13 Bankruptcy discharged date with no waiting period.
